An edge of duality – the summer solstice

Today is the first day of summer.  June 21.

It is also the solstice.

What is a “solstice” you ask?

In the Northern Hemisphere, during the summer solstice the angle of the sun’s rays reaches its farthest point north of the Equator.  It is a day that receives more sunlight than on any other day of the year.

It is has been a day of celebration for many centuries.  I wonder what they are doing at Stonehenge right now?

The summer solstice is an “edge of duality.”

It is the beginning of a season that includes the warmest days of the year.  It is the end of sun’s journey northward.

It is the beginning of a time period when the hours of daylight each day decrease.  It is the end of a time period when the hours of daylight each day increase.

It is a place where light begins to fade into darkness.  It is a part of the natural cycle of nature.

Like the summer solstice, your soul path is also an edge of duality.  Your journey includes time periods in the light and time periods in the shadow.

The summer solstice is also an “edge of re-alignment.”

It is an edge that allows you to re-align the orientation and direction of your life with the natural transitions of light and darkness that are taking place around you.

What is your orientation and direction today?  How would you re-align it?
