the edge of winter (the dolphin)

PART_1408629572756_20140818_115451

I took my kids to Clearwater, Florida this past week.

We visited the Clearwater Marine Aquarium.

The aquarium is home to Winter the dolphin.

Winter is the dolphin that lost her tail when she became entangled in a rope attached to a crab pot.

She is the dolphin that was fitted with a prosthetic tail.

Winter is the star in the movie Dolphin Tale.

A second movie, Dolphin Tale 2 is scheduled to be released on September 12, 2014.

Since the second movie is being released, there was a lot of local, national and international media attention at the aquarium the day we were there.

The picture above shows a reporter interviewing Winter’s handlers.  Winter can be seen in the water to the left.

Winter has inspired and helped heal many different people.

People who are amputees, are wheelchair bound, have Autisum and other physical and mental challenges in their lives.

In spite of her own challenges she connects and creates connections with all types of people.

What is your edge of connecting with people?

Are you willing to connect with someone different than yourself?

If a dolphin can do it, so can you.

Give a try this week.  You may make a new friend.  You also may make an impact in someone’s life.

You may actually inspire them!
